Adaptation and Disease Resistance of Elite Tropical Black Bean Lines

Background: Chiapas and Veracruz are the main producing states in lowlands of southeastern Mexico, with a total harvested volume 90,146 t grain 2020, joint planting area 151,037 ha. However, cultivation this legume is subject to series biological, climatic edaphic problems, which make average yields notoriously low. The objective study was identify high-yielding black bean lines, resistant diseases better adaptation than three commercial cultivars currently used both entities. Methods: During 2019 seven environments Chiapas, 11 lines Negro Jamapa, Medellín Verdín were evaluated. An analysis variance variables performed by each environment combined incidence BGYMV yield. Result: Jamapa Plus/XRAV-187-3-4-4 most productive line, an yield 1,542 kg ha-1, statistically similar that Plus/XRAV-187-3-1-2 higher rest genotypes. Both showed resistance web blight rust low BGYMV, significantly reduced stability throughout evaluation environments.
